The Sun Sentinel hosted “Party in Pink” Oct. 23, 2014 at 110 Tower located in Fort Lauderdale. The event honored the 2014 Sun Sentinel Life’s Victories participants who, throughout the month of October, shared their personal stories in the Sun Sentinel about fighting back against breast cancer. Kim Haley of Medebra.com was one of the inspiring women who shared her story of surviving this deadly disease and how she today is a very active spoke person and an inspiration to the women going through their treatments.
The event, presented by Jackson Health System, was an inspiring opportunity to unite as a community and honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about steps to reduce the risk and raise money to support programs provided through Gilda’s Club South Florida. Gilda’s Club South Florida is a cancer support community for women, men, children, and teens with all types of cancer, and their families and friends. The club offers networking groups, lectures, workshops, children and teen programs, and social events in a nonresidential, non-medical home-like setting. The clubhouse is located in a historic home in downtown Fort Lauderdale on the Tarpon River. For more information, visit http://www.GildasClubSouthFlorida.org.
Additional sponsors included: Adcahb, CAC Florida, MCCI, Holy Cross Hospital, Broward Health, Cleveland Clinic Florida, Humana, UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and City Furniture.
